The colour lavender for April's photography challenge - I found a bunch of dried lavender from last summer, and I had a mixed box of macaroons from Mademoiselle Macaron. How lucky I hadn't eaten the lavender ones, although they disappeared pretty quickly after the photos were taken!
I love nests, eggs, birds, feathers, insects and any quirky, unusual or dead things I might come across. So when I found a dead sparrow on my patio a few weeks ago I went through a mixture of emotions starting with sadness and then turning to excitement at the opportunity to photograph it! I think this little sparrow was in the process of being eaten by a Sparrowhawk, as we've been seeing one around our area lately - and I prefer to think of him providing a much needed meal, rather than dying as a cat's play thing!
This month's colour for the Colours of 2015 challenge was mint green. I didn't plan to photograph it with red, but I found I rather liked the little dash of red on the specs, and then I found the mug at my local DIY store and it fitted the theme perfectly. I would never normally put mint and red together but I'm rather taken with it!
